Inaugurating Polish Bookshelf at the Phila Free Librarydate: 2019-03-07

JLS was in attendance to support the inauguration of the Polish bookshelf at the Philadelphia Free Library. This new program is made possible by a significant donation of Polish literary books made by the Polish Books Institute (represented at the ceremony by its deputy director, dr. Krzysztof Koehler of Krakow) to the Philadelphia Free Library. Ambassador of Poland, prof. dr Piotr Wilczek, who is also an academic, professor of literature, as well as an accomplished translator, delivered a lecture on the perception of Polish literature in the US and Europe. The event concluded with a reception.
